• It’s quite clear from Scripture that God considers homosexual behavior sinful (just as he considers adultery and fornication sinful). It’s one of a long list of depravities that He opposes, because He loves us and knows how bad sin is for us. That list, as presented by Paul in Romans 1, also includes:

“every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy.”

So, it always amazes me that people like whathisname in Alabama always single out homosexuality but never purveyors of any of the other sins God also appears to hate. Why aren’t they preaching, “You cannot be a born-again gossip?” I guess that would rule out too many of us, wouldn’t it?

And if what if they dared to spew, “You cannot be born again and not be merciful?” I guess they would kind of shoot themselves in the foot with that one, wouldn’t they?

  • I suppose my biggest misunderstanding is why any human thinks they can make declarative statements like the one Damon makes (that’s the guy in the video). It’s one thing to quote Scripture, or misquote Scripture, but to make statements like the kind he does… statements that, I believe, it’s quite possible no human being has the knowledge to answer (and most definitely, do not have the authority to speak)… that’s what amazes me. Suddenly we are now God and we decide the fate and redemptive course of others. (sigh again)

  • I like all the World Vision ads around it.
